WELCOME, SPEAKERS!

This page serves as your central resource to ensure you have everything you need to prepare for and deliver an outstanding talk at our upcoming showcase event.
Please read through carefully and take action where required.
1. Preparing Your Speech
- Your talk should be engaging, well-rehearsed, and within the allocated time.
- You have up to 7 minutes.
- Practice with a timer to avoid overrunning.
- Fill out the Speaker Topic Form to confirm your topic to avoid too much overlap in our
- presentations.

2. Let’s Fill the Room – Our Team Responsibility
We all benefit from a full house! Here’s how you can help ensure a packed audience:
- Bookmark the Eventbrite booking link – have it saved so you can easily pop it in a text invite or social media post
- Give away your free ticket – invite someone who will benefit from the event and/or who is keen to support you
- Get your guest to register ASAP – Prompt them to secure their spot early.
- Encourage ticket sales – Sell at least one ticket to someone in your network.
- Promote the event – Share it on social media, email contacts, and within relevant communities.
3. Event Night: Key Timings & Expectations
Arrival & Check-In
- We all know traffic and parking in Auckland Central can be unpredictable, so don’t give yourself unnecessary stress. This is one night where you want to be super-early!
- All speakers must arrive by 5:20 PM for briefing and final setup.
- Doors open at 5:45 PM to guests.
Agenda for the Evening
Click to check our detailed run sheet for the evening. There is a lot to cover so we MUST make sure we keep to time.
Before, during and after
- Before: Be prepared to network before your talk. This can be tiring, so if you need a little space instead, you are welcome to sit quietly in the recording studio area.
- During: we will alert you with with timer cards to tell you that you have 2 mins remaining (green), 1 min remaining (orange), and time out which means “time to put a bow on it”(red)
- After: We may choose to hang out a little together after the guests have gone. We may be elated - we may be exhausted - and however we are… is just fine!
4. On the Night – Your Role
- Be on time and check in with Cath so she knows you’ve arrived.
- Know when you’re speaking and be ready before your slot.
- Support your fellow speakers by staying engaged throughout the event. (Super important!)
- Encourage audience participation and connection.
- Have fun!

5. Final Checklist
- Have you submitted your Speaker Topic Form?
- Have you ensured your special guest has registered in Eventbrite and invited other guests?
- Have you promoted the event on your socials?
- Have you rehearsed and refined your talk?
- Have you arranged your travel to arrive in good time and stress-free?
This term has been quite the journey!
I’m excited to have you on board for this showcase event.
LET’S ROCK THIS!
